Our class has been chosen to be visited by a group of Japanese students from our sister city, Misawa, Japan on Oct. 7th. It will be a cultural exchange where the students can ask questions of each other and their culture. The Japanese students will teach our class an origami project. It will be a fun experience for all. Each child has been asked to be ready to ask an appropriate question about Japan or Japanese culture. Any help at home would be appreciated.
Parent Conferences are coming up in the middle of October (13-17). Conference schedule sign up papers will be sent home tomorrow. Please sign up for your top three choices (please number them). The earlier that you return the slip, the greater the chance to have your top choice as your conference time.
We had a great day today in class. You have done a wonderful job raising your children. They are a true pleasure to teach. We had a sub today for a couple of hours so I could go to a short meeting. The sub gave the students a glowing report on their attitude and behavior. I am so proud of them.
Just a reminder that home reading logs should be signed and returned on Friday.
We are nearly done with our Fall testing. We should finish this up this week. We are all looking forward to a regular schedule without interruptions.
Below you will find a .pdf copy of the first newsletter of the school year. If you have any questions or comments, please email me.
Homework this week will be just home reading and some math later in the week. This week in class we will be focusing on procedures, organizing materials and getting to know each other better.
The first homework packet will be sent out on Friday. Have a great week.
