Summary: The Monroes have gone on vacation, leaving Harold and Chester at Chateau Bow-Wow -- not exactly a four-star hotel. On the animals' very first night there, the silence is pierced by a peculiar wake-up call -- an unearthly howl that makes Chester observe that the place should be called Howliday Inn. (GoodReads.com)
Review: I absolutely and totally love this book as a read aloud. There are a variety of different characters that allow me to explore the voice in each. At times it can be a bit challenging keeping all the voices straight but it's a blast to read. I get to have the fun of being a french poodle, a bulldog, a couple of mutts and even a crazy calico cat. Each character is distinct and the writer makes each memorable. James Howe is well known for the book Bunnicula. This is the second book in the series. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
